2014! Here it comes!

2013 was a great year, guys. But 2014 is setting up to be spectacular! Do you set up New Year's Resolutions? I don't like the term resolutions. So I've been making a list of goals I'd like to accomplish in the new year, and here they are:

* See that linky in the menu labeled "My Books". ^^^^  That will soon take you to the brand spanking new Azalea Moone website, complete with everything from new and coming soon releases, to excerpts, buy links, and information about current releases. Lots and lots of good stuff, including freebie downloads!

* This also means that NO MORE BOOK SPAM on this blog! The only spam will be on that sidebar >>>> and will include new and coming soon releases with blurb and buy links. Also, I won't be posting "to-do" lists here anymore.

Okay, so maybe not 100% spam-free. I'll still be doing giveaways. :)

* What to do with this blog? Well, I'll try to make it a habit to post more frequently on other things, maybe interests of mine, or writerly stuff, or whatever. I also welcome guest posts by authors (so email me, yo!) and I'll do some blog hops. But really, I need to stop the spammage, right?

* Hmm, I have another blog... Did you know I also have a Livejournal? I'm still in debates on what to do with that, since I barely post on there either. But I used to use it for gaming updates, fanart, fanfic, and other interests, etc. I'm not really a fan of LJ's setup anymore so... should I combine both blogs? Okay I'm brainstorming here, hehe.

* Writing goals: My ultimate goal is to write a novel length book, so I'm continuing that goal for 2014. I've gotten close *shakes fist* with other projects, I'll do it this year!

Okay, so I haven't figured everything out. Really that LJ thing is a way to consolidate my blogs. I may or may not combine them... Sorry, more brainstorming. hehe

Are you ready for 2014?

Wip teaser - Project Wasteland

Mmm, I enjoy sharing a tiny piece of the good stuff with readers. Hope you guys like it. This is from my current WIP, an untitled for now post apocalyptic story.

Randy is a half-droid scout employed with the Rescue and
Reconnaissance Unit Special Forces to find survivors from the recent disaster. His fifth mission is Project Wasteland, to bring survivors to the Northern Territory, a populated region with plenty of resources.

Preston is a survivor who, strangely, doesn't want to leave.

Once we were out of harms way, I maneuvered in the dark bunker to the back room and tore away my jacket. It shouldn’t have gotten wet. At least it was some protection in case the rain was full of toxins, but the outer lining wasn’t made to get wet, even a little bit.
In the first room, the oil lamp flickered, its flame also almost dampened by the rain. Luckily, I’d pulled Preston in before it happened.
I laid my jacket out on the table and took a deep breath. What a wild night. But Preston did have a good plan, I had to admit. If he could distill the rainwater, it would serve as perfectly good drinking water for him, and his survivors he was so adamant on protecting. Thunder continued to rumble outside. I wondered if the survivor camp was also getting the rain.
“It’s,” Preston whispered behind me.
I turned around briefly, suddenly realizing the air was hot in the bunker, drying the sticky sweat on my lower back—the area that my equipment didn’t temperature regulate properly. Preston’s eyes were wide, staring at my machinery. I couldn’t imagine what he was thinking.
“Go ahead and say it.” I moved back to the table and situated the jacket, making sure the sleeves weren’t bunched up. “It’s disgusting, right?”
“No. It’s awesome.” His excited reply shocked me. “Can I touch it?”
I shrugged. “If you want.”
Footsteps sounded behind me. I knew the warmth of his presence as he stood near. His breath was heavy, and I glanced at him as he ran his fingers across the chrome metal parts of my outer forearm, but couldn’t feel his touch. “It’s warm,” he whispered. He flattened his hand across what was my elbow and continued inching his way up to my shoulder.
“Of course it is.” The metal infused into my skin and joints was meant to imitate flesh as much as possible, while giving me the necessary protection, though I wished that I could know his caress. The metal didn’t replicate that much.
I turned to face him, and he continued his exploration, grazing his fingers against the chrome metallic parts inserted into my chest. His hot breath whisked past my neck, teasing the small hairs there as he stepped around me. I tried to hide the slight tremble his inspection was causing, and the flush in my face that was building each second.
Preston’s fingers caressed my naked neck. I closed my eyes and almost quaked as his fingers tickled the backside of my ear. “Nothing here?”
I shook my head. “Invisible. Chips inserted into the brain send messages pertaining to my missions.”
“Unbelievable. I always wondered how you guys worked.” He moved to my back, each time he touched my bare skin, I jolted. But his fingers always found another piece of metal, and the excitement wavered when I couldn’t feel him anymore. “Is it on your legs, too?”
“Yes. Starts again at my hips and straight down to my toes. They’re all mechanical.”
“Your toes?”
“My feet from the ankles.”
“Damn,” he exhaled another hot breath, then stepped around to face me again. He pulled his hand away, leaving me unbelievably cold. “Must take a lot of work to keep the parts in good working condition.”

Fall 2013 Updates

Fall has fast approached, hasn't it? I swear it was just 90 degrees and humid outside, now here in middle Nebraska, we've already seen our first freeze. Crap! This isn't much of an update post, since for the last two months I've been dealing with a multitude of real life issues that call for my attention.
But I have been hard at work with different projects.

Website rebuilding: I am actively redesigning a new website where you can get information about my books, and anything coming soon. Kind of like the tab above that says "Books" but it will redirect you to the new website, complete with links to purchase and excerpts.

Editing, editing, and more editing: I have several stories I've been editing and hope to see those released in the next year.

Freebies!: Yes, Miles Away is still set to be released sometime in the next few months.

New Release: When the Hounds Come Out to Play
Single release from the Devil's Night Anthology, published by Storm Moon Press
It's Halloween night. Devil dogs Keir and Ryu are prowling the night, seeking condemned souls to take back to the underworld. But being among the humans proves too tempting for Ryu. He escapes his duties to party among the mortals, and in the process, finds himself in the middle of a case of mistaken identity with a sexy stranger.

Hot in Fall Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Hot in Fall Blog Hop, running from Oct 1 to Oct 7th!

So what is "Hot in Fall"? The question came to me when I signed up for the blog hop. And since I feel like being totally random, I wanted to ask "what is hot in fall"? It's autumn, time to pack up those summer clothes and dig out your sweaters, jeans, and coats. That's not hot at all. It's cold, if anything. But it's also a time of change. The leaves will start to turn, and cover the ground with beautiful shades of yellows and reds.

There are some awesome things about fall, you know, like: Halloween!!

Image provided by FreeDigitalPhotos

Cause ghosts and goblins, werewolves and vampires, and all the awesomely hot spooktacular creepies crawling the night... Love It! Look forward to it every year.
What else? How about the fall season. Leaves turn colors: red, orange, and yellow. It gets cooler outside.

It's a fabulous time to play in the leaves. Grab your rake, push em all into a pile, and dive-bomb into the mess!

Okay, so random post is random. How do you like that? But you know I think my favorite thing about the autumn season, kids go back to school! (And I have a couple of them.)

And this is a good thing. Why? I have more time to write. More time to watch porn-- I mean play! More time to run bills and grocery shop and do stuff that I couldn't during the long 3 month summer break.

Oh yeah, and more time to read some fabulously hot and sexy stuff by all my fellow authors!

What about you? What's your favorite thing about Fall/Autumn? Answer me this in a comment below (along with your email address), good readers, and you'll have a chance to win any title from my backlist! What's this mean? I'll pull one lucky random winner from a hat on October 8th, and that winner can choose from any one of my current titles!

The list is available here: My Books

Coming Soon!!

He’d drifted off to sleep when a knock came at the door. Lazily, he sat up, thinking it was his imagination, but with the second knock, he swung his legs over the bed and stood.
“Coming.” Jesus, what time is it?
Realizing he’d fallen asleep with his work clothes on, he tried to straighten his now wrinkled slacks, and pulled his sleeves down his forearms to his wrists.
A third knock came.
“Damn, hold on—“
He knew that voice. Daniel swung open the door, staring into Toby’s gorgeous hazel eyes, and blinking to make sure it wasn’t a dream. “Toby?”

Thanks all for your wonderful answers! This contest in now closed, and the winner will be announced soon!

Not an Editing Tip: Two Free Programs to Speed Things Up!

Let me make a quick note that this is not an editing tip. I'm not an editor, and Lord knows I don't specifically enjoy the editing process. But I'm not going to write a first draft and immediately throw it out to the wolves before editing the damn thing. So I was looking for ways to speed up that daunting task, and I found some free programs that can do that!

The task of taking out crutch and empty words can seem like a long journey, when all you want to do is send the story off. MS word (and other programs) find/replace is a handy feature, but can take forever when your ms is long.

Before I continue, this process does not replace good ole' human eyes. Grab yourself a beta reader first, and make sure you read your story too.

SmartEdit Lite by Bad Wolf Software:

The first program is quite possibly the most comprehensive. SmartEdit provides both a Paid-for version and a Lite version. Go ahead, try out the 10-day trial. But for this post, I'm going to focus on the Lite version. I am a poor gal after all. SmartEdit is currently in version 3.101, but I use an older version which does NOT offer anything different to the new version! It's all the same, except for the tiny ad.

If you're like me, you'd rather not copy/pasta pieces of your story into a web browser, this program is for you. It's a complete install, no copy/paste needed.

And it's thorough. Have a list of "no-no" words you need to search for? No problem. Add each word into the Monitored Words list, and you're ready to go. For instance: one of my crutch words is "wanton". I've added it to my list here, including some other empty verbs and unnecessary words:

Hit scan. It might take awhile. For this process, I like to separate my chapters into different documents, such as "chapter 1" "chapter 2", etc, and run them one at a time. It can still be a daunting process to scan/fix the entire thing in one go.

Here, you can see I found the word "wanton". It also appears two more times within my story. In the document viewer, I can fix it by either rewriting the sentence, or whatever. Then, I can press Save, and it'll keep my changes.

As you can see, SmartEdit Lite also features a cliche checker, a dialog tag list, an adverbs list, and repeated words and repeated phrases lists that also make the editing process much faster. The paid-for version offers tons more goodies to help.

Maybe some time I'll make a comprehensive post on how to use SmartEdit, some tips and tricks, but I'll continue on to the next program in this list.

EditMinion by the makers of Write or Die:

EditMinion is currently in Beta stage, but this doesn't stop the web program from being totally awesome. This is a copy/paste thingie, though, so if you're comfortable with that, definitely give this one a try.

So, what you should do here is break up your story into parts. As you can see when you go to the page, the script cannot handle too much text. If your chapters are smaller - around 2 or 3k - then the script is okay. Any more than that, and you should cut your chapters in half. I suggest doing this within your word program and saving them as separate files just in case.

Copy/paste your part into the empty space, and click "Edit". When the script is done, it will generate a report that will appear underneath.

The program marks: Adverb use, weak words, passive voice, dialog tags, homonym's, and sentences ending in propositions. Even though you cannot correct your mistakes inside the window, you can use this report to correct mistakes in your file.

I think my passage is fairly clean. :) ... Yeah this is just for demonstration.

So do you have any programs that you use to help the editing process? I'd like to hear about them!

Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now Blog Giveaway!!

How about another hot book to make you sweat this weekend? Anais Morgan is hosting a blog giveaway for her new release, Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now and she'd like you to comment to win a book!!

When they finally find love, can it survive the scrutiny?
Vincent’s days at work are spent admiring a hot hunk of man flesh named Jason. Unfortunately, Jason is straight—or so Vincent believes. When Jason asks Vincent out to a sporting event, he confesses he’s interested, and Vince has no problem exploring these feelings with Jason. After a night of passion, they decide they’ve held back their true feelings for too long and want to try a committed relationship.
Just as things start to work for them, their boss finds out that they’re gay. He turns them in for on-the-clock PDA and tells their co-workers. Can Vincent and Jason’s relationship hold up against that kind of hatred?
A knock came on the door. I walked over and unlocked the deadbolt. Jason smiled as I opened it. He stepped on the threshold, his brows furrowing the way they always had at work. Something was bothering him.
“We good?” I asked.
He hesitated before answering. “Yeah. Can I talk to you about something?”
“Sure.” I stepped aside to allow him to come in farther. After closing the door, I asked, “What’s up?”
He waited a few seconds, concern warping his gaze. I began to worry.
Jason said, “Look, Vincent, I know you’re gay.”
My teeth chattered while my stomach dropped between my knees. How did he find out? I’d been so careful, always watching my back. My hands shook, my knees wanted to knock so I leaned on one foot, trying to play it cool. “How did … you … umm. Well you see—”
Jason held up his hands in defense. Smiling, he said, “Look, I’m not mad. Actually, I think you’re cute.” He paused. “I’ve always thought something was wrong with me. I love sex, but mostly anal. Women turn me on, but not the way men seem to. Maybe I’m bi? I don’t know. But I want to find out.”
And did I ever want to pull him to my side. I smiled at him, my hands quivering and whispered, “I’ll help you.”
Jason took a step closer. He wrapped his fingers in my hair and pulled me in for a kiss. At first he puckered, unsure of what to do. I led him, kissing his bottom lip gently. He molded his lips to mine, following my lead.
“Want me to help you figure that out?” I opened his mouth with my own, sliding my tongue in. He massaged mine back, licking and playing with it. My body, and my cock, reacted to his touch. I wanted to break away and hug him, maybe jump for joy. But no, I couldn’t. I didn’t want the kiss to end.
Jason let out a small moan and I wanted him even more. Fuck the game, we could do this all night. I slid my hand up to the back of his neck. His hair stood on end. What did this mean? Could he be turned on, too? Or was he mortified?
Jason pulled back, gazing into my eyes. His were wide. He hated it, I could tell. He didn’t want it.
“That was … weird,” he said.
“I’m sorry.”
He smirked. “I didn’t say I didn’t like it.”
My cock twitched with his words. Wow. “That did just happen, didn’t it?”

New Release: Secret Studies by CP Foster and Giveaway!

Looking for some smokin hot M/F to sink your teeth into over the weekend? Check it out! And there's a giveaway with some awesome prizes!!

Secret Studies (Arcaneology Book 2)
C. P. Foster
Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance
Length: Novel
Warnings: Contains BDSM elements and dubious consent

If she could only stop running, she could start living…

With a million-dollar bounty on her head, Angie Clark has been hiding under the noses of her enemies for nearly a decade. But trying to prevent a war between humans and vampires has landed her in trouble—again. A vampire monarch bent on revenge has taken out a new contract on her, and Angie knows that if she’s caught, her enemies will torture her until she begs for death. Mired in violence and death, keeping her secrets becomes more important than ever. And as her life unravels bit by bit, she fears she’ll have to leave behind everyone and everything that matters to her and run.

But when Steffen Scott puts his life on the line in order to protect her, she can no longer deny her feelings for him. As the threat of war looms over humanity once again, it could mean the annihilation of both species, and Angie must decide whether to keep running or to turn and fight. And maybe find out what she and Steffen could become.

She went to him, and let him draw her onto his lap. He angled her so her legs dangled to one side while her back rested against his broad chest. His skin felt cool, but not as cold as before.

“Did you intend to tease me by leaving that lovely throat bare?” he murmured into her ear.

“Don’t you like it?”

His growl vibrated over her. “I’ve thought of little else since the moment I arrived. May I taste you now?”

“Yes,” she whispered.

With a gentle touch, he took the single curl that tickled the side of her neck and tucked it behind her ear. Grace closed her eyes as he settled his mouth over her vein. His fangs extended, thin as those of a snake, and pricked the soft skin. She held her breath.

He curved one arm around her waist an instant before he struck. Pain flickered for only a second, then a lush wave of pleasure overtook her, and she moaned aloud. His arm tightened while his other hand stroked up to cover her breast. He squeezed. Found the stiffening nipple and pinched. Grace arched with desire as he caressed his way to her thighs and edged them apart. The suction of his drinking, the quiet sounds he made, the way his body grew warmer with each passing second, all of the sensations engulfed her.

He eased her skirt up and nudged her panties aside so he could graze his fingertips over her moist lower lips. She tensed from head to toe as he traced a slick path to her bud and began to stroke. Her racing heart pumped blood into his mouth. Pleasure built, and when she came, he sucked harder to drink in her ecstasy.

#wednesdaysoundtrack Inspiration of Love

I haven't done a Wednesday Soundtrack post in a long time. And well, I figure it's time because I have been reintroduced to a couple of 90's love songs that I used to avoid like the plague. haha!

These aren't necessarily inspiring any story at the moment, their just for anything I'm working on right now. (A new ms that's not on my to-do list, oops)

The first song: who remembers this from The Three Musketeers? :) And when Rod Stewart sings, oh yeah. Bring back some memories right there... okay, now I'm really showing my age.

And now for the second song: This, for some reason, I had avoided for many, many years. No, I think it's because it used to be an ex's song. You know what I mean, guys and gals, you hear a song that reminds you of your current bf and you play it over and over again until the tape/CD scratches. That was this song at the time. But I can't for the life of me figure out who that guy was. Good! Now I can play it over and over and not remember the reason I used to.

#teaserTuesday Night Shift

Tuesday is here. That means it's time for #teaserTuesday!

It's a freaking hot day outside. Around 100 degrees here in the great state of Nebraska. So let's cool down a little with a story that takes place in a massive winter storm. Or maybe this will get you a little hotter?
This #teasertuesday snippit comes from the upcoming release titled Night Shift.

Working graveyard shift during one of the worst winter storms in history could be lots of fun!

Well, I could finish my shift and wake him in the morning. Or I could wake him now before sleeping like that messed up his back. I opted to finish up inventory first.
Two boxes left. The one James sat on and the one next to him. I slipped my way around him, seeking the box near him, but my shoe caught on his and I tumbled onto his lap.
“Ugh, sorry,” I grumbled, bracing my feet on the floor, barely balanced on his leg.
He grasped hold of my sides, steadying us before we both fell to the floor, but he didn’t move those hands once he awoke. His hot breath blew past my shoulder blades. “It’s okay,” he said in a heady and possessive voice. “I’ve got you.”
Tightening his hold around my sides, he snaked his arm around to my waistline, stopping near my crotch.
“What are you—“ I groaned, losing my voice once that controlling hand cupped my package.
His hand on my side wandered underneath my shirt to my naked skin, tickling and causing me to tremble with the plea caught on my tongue. Sliding up my abs and playing them with his fingers, he whispered moist breath on my back, “You feel good.”
James’s leg began to tremble. His hand gripped my partly hardened cock. I ground my hips, needing more of his touch. His other hand pinched a nipple and I stifled back a needful moan stuck in my throat. My stomach tied in knots at my body’s reaction.
Before he could continue, I jumped off his lap and turned, grabbing him by the collar of that blue twill work shirt. “You son of a—“ I pulled him up to his feet with ease and slammed him into the set of metal shelves next to us.

The "Proposed" New Warning System in M/M Romance - WTF??

Warnings: Contains dub-con, excessive violence, and
an explicit on-page m/f oral scene

What would you think if you ran into a warning like this?
Is it really necessary to categorize a m/f oral sex scene the same as dub-con or excessive violence?
Is m/f really a trigger like say: tentacle rape or mentions of physical abuse?

For those following the current kerfuffle in the M/M romance world, you know where the frustration and anger lies. Author's apparently are being very disrespectful to their readers by including m/f sex scenes in their stories and not warning for them.

Damn. Just... damn. Really?

This isn't a new issue. It's been going on for years and more recently with one of my publishers and an awesome author who didn't warn for such thing.

Why didn't they warn for it? Well, it shouldn't be necessary.

When I got out of the fanfic community, I guess I thought I wouldn't have to include numerous warnings like these because we (as adults) shouldn't need a silly paragraph or two of "Warnings: this book contains all these triggery things so pull your big girl panties up and hang on." But to mix m/f scenes in with the necessary warnings: tentacle rape, dub-con, non-con, excessive violence, mentions of prior physical abuse, or what have you?

For comparison, let's change "warning" to "contains".

"Contains excessive violence, dub-con, and an explicit m/f oral scene."

I guess I should just add everything that my book contains or that could be a possible 'trigger': "Contains: excessive violence, dub-con, an explicit m/f oral scene, blood, sexy vampires with long hair, pale skin, sharp fangs, and a whole shit ton more of stuff that you may not like."

Will it be necessary some day? Is m/f sex that triggery? :/

Sure, as a reader, I may run into a m/f sex scene that was never warned for. I skim over it and get right back into the action. If it's a necessary component to the story, it shouldn't necessarily need to be warned for.

#SundaySnog Angel's Redemption Part Deux

I've done a snog for Angel's Redemption once before, but how about a part two?? I don't think I've done a Sunday snog in a while either. How about some sweet neck kisses, and teases. :)

Angel's Redemption is now available at the Storm Moon Press store!
Blaine Scheider has had bad luck his entire life, but that's only because his guardian angel has been missing in action.

Steam rose from the basin, humid and warm, fogging the bathroom. Lynsael watched Blaine step out of his jeans and ease his foot over the bathtub's ledge. Seeing Blaine's taut ass, he couldn't help but get excited.
Blaine reached out for Lynsael, who hesitated a moment. "But my wings?"

"They'll be okay." Blaine winked. "We'll be careful not to get the water directly on them."

Lynsael let his tension ease. He clutched Blaine's hand and stepped into the warmth of the water on his face. He loved the way it washed away his fears, the way it drowned out everything he'd thought of throughout the lonesome day.

Enjoying Blaine's muscled shoulders and firm back in front of him, he eased closer, finding that warmth more comforting than the water. His cock went rigid as he pressed against Blaine, and he laid his head between Blaine's shoulders.

"Lyn..." Blaine stilled a moment. "Here."

Blaine turned slowly, a bar of soap in his hands. He ran the soap against Lynsael's skin from his neck to his abdomen, his eyes sparkling as he peered down at Lynsael's stiff length. He pulled away just enough to rub the soap between his hands, white bubbles foaming between his fingers before he lowered his hands to Lynsael's hardness.

Lynsael flushed as Blaine's hands traveled between his legs, smoothing the soap over his balls, spreading him wide. He'd wanted to grab on to Blaine, to thrust up and beg for his lips, or to simply melt into Blaine's hands like putty. A stifled moan escaped his closed lips as Blaine slid foamy fingers across his perineum.
Blaine stopped, flicked his eyes to Lynsael, and smiled.

"Don't stop," Lynsael hummed in sheer pleasure.

Blaine straightened his spine. With the bar of soap back in his hands, he slid around the tiled wall and disappeared behind Lynsael. Slick hands ran down the small of Lynsael's back, making him shudder, and then he slid his hands around Lynsael's sides to his stomach, pressing against his back and the remains of Lynsael's wings.

"I'm sorry," Blaine whispered before placing a kiss on the side of Lynsael's neck.

Lynsael closed his eyes and rolled his head back onto Blaine's shoulder, enjoying the warmth, a heated flush rising in his face. "For what?"

"Last night," Blaine breathed. "Everything that's happened in the last few days... it's just... I don't know what to think of it all."

Lynsael settled his hands on top of Blaine's. He took a sighing breath. "I know."

Blaine licked at the back of his neck, drawing a wet line to his nape. Lynsael trembled with Blaine's needy touch, his own desires depleting any remaining worry and confusion. He'd wanted Blaine to hold him, to comfort him; he'd wanted Blaine to know his pain because he knew Blaine's all too well.

Coming soon: Angel's Redemption!

So happy I can share this now. The cover art is gorgeous, done by the talented Yana Goya!

Angel's Redemption comes out on June 28th by Storm Moon Press!

Twenty-four-year-old Blaine Schneider is seasoned to hardship. Since the age of eight, he's experienced nothing but a swarm of bad luck: from the funny electrical fire in shop class to failing grades and relationships gone sour. He believes he'll never get past it; only his band, 'Til Dark, and their dream, keeps him going through it all.

Shortly after he mysteriously inherits a beautifully carved angel statue, Blaine also finds an apartment big enough to display the lifelike sculpture, and he thinks his luck has finally taken a turn for the better. But when he discovers the spell inscribed on the statue's base, he frees Lynsael from his stone prison, a handsome fallen angel who claims to be Blaine's former guardian angel, and then his luck really improves.

But while Blaine is falling hard for the angel's blue eyes and lively personality, in the shadows, dark forces are working to keep Blaine and Lynsael apart. It will take more than luck for the pair to come through unscathed—it'll take a miracle.

Now, you can mark it on your Goodreads bookshelf!

The need for a M/M writer's critique group?

Have you ever looked around the net for a M/M writer's critique group? You'll see that there's very little option for original M/M fiction.

So I'm interested... I want to gauge authors needs for a critique group of this nature. If you are an author (aspiring or published), please fill out this survey: does not require you to log in to Google.

The survey will remain up for a couple of weeks.

This doesn't mean I will create a group, but I will offer my results to anyone interested, including critique group owners.

I'll post my results here on the blog and (possibly) in the M/M Romance Goodreads group.

A sneak peak at upcoming releases by Azalea Moone

Summer will be chock full of upcoming releases by Azalea Moone. While some of these book releases are still secret, I'll post a tiny preview of the covers so you can see the pretties I've yet to unveil.

I've advertised it before. "A Rogue's Power" releases tomorrow, June 14th by Total E Bound! Set in the same world as my Dark Night Skies series, A Rogue's Power follows Malachi and Dante as they find solace in a violent vampire world.

The rest of these covers are still secret... Shhhhh.

"Angel's Redemption" coming June 28th from Storm Moon Press.

This beautiful cover art is done by the talented Yana Goya. Look at the gorgeous purples and blues. Trust me, you'll adore this cover! I'll update soon when I receive the final.

In August, prepare for my next self-pub release, an erotic romance titled "Night Shift".

Cover done by the fabulous Erin Lark, at Erin Lark designs! Check her work out!

Coming up in July or August, I'll be self-publishing last year's Love is Always Write story "For Those Who Wait" in ebook form. It will be available for free download at all online retailers, including Goodreads, and will include the second story "For Those Who Wait: Dig" that was only available here on the blog.

And these are just the tip of the iceberg. In October, I'll be releasing a dark horror erotic serial that will leave you squirming in your seat, and hiding under your blankets!

Absolutely Erotic Blog Hop Last Day!!

Welcome to a stop on the Absolutely Erotic Blog Hop, where we’re showcasing erotica and erotic romance authors from the Absolute Write forums. Each day, interviews will be posted, and when it’s all said and done, some lucky commenter will win a huge prize!  Click here for the entire blog schedule and details about the contents of the prize, and how to win an armload of ebooks, a $25 Amazon gift card, and more.

Today, I’m hosting L.A. Witt (who also writes as Lauren Gallagher).

1. Have you always loved romance writing?  Honestly, no. I was all about epic fantasy and science fiction during those formative years when I was first cutting my teeth on writing. Then I did NaNoWriMo and decided to write a romance because it was simpler than epic fantasy (simpler = I could plot one out in the two weeks I had left before NaNo started), and the rest is history. I’d found my niche.

2. Do you have any special writing rituals?  I have to constantly update my word count spreadsheet. Like, constantly. It seems counterproductive, but it’s almost a tic. Something I have to do or I get flustered and frustrated. Blame my OCD.

3. Do you have a writing tip to share with our viewers? Be persistent with your writing, and open-minded when it comes to criticism.

4. What do you find the most challenging about being a writer?  Insecurity. I second-guess myself a lot, and go through periods where I don’t feel certain about anything I write. That insecurity is also what keeps me striving to get better, but it’s absolutely a double-edged sword.

5. What’s one time and/or place (past, present, or future) that you’re dying to write about? Why?  Well, a year ago I would have said World War II and Ancient Rome. Now that I’ve written both, I want to write MORE of both. LOL They’re fascinating eras, and there are endless possibilities.

6. If you could pick anyone in the world to be the cover model(s) on your latest release, who would it be?  I would sell my soul to have Jared Leto on the cover of one of my books.

7. What would you tell a reader reluctant to read erotica? Try it, you might like it! There are all kinds of flavors of erotica, so don’t feel like you have to read something kinky if that’s not your thing, or stick with vanilla if you prefer something a little wilder. There really is something for everybody out there.

8. If you were stranded on an island with one book and one object, what would they be?  The book would be either On Writing by Stephen King or Skybound by my amazing co-author, Aleksandr Voinov. One object? My retractable bear claw back scratcher. Laugh all you want. That was the best $3.99 I ever spent.

9. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?  The ability to look good in skintight spandex.

10. Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination?   They’re completely fictional. I usually use photos of real people just to give myself a visual, but the personalities, histories, etc., are entirely their own. That’s not to say they’re not influenced by people I know. Sometimes a character’s quirk comes from someone I know, and sometimes an experience they’ve had is one I’ve had myself, but as a whole, the character is his or her own person.

11. What is the most interesting thing you have learned from your research?  Oh lord. What haven’t I learned doing research?  Off the top of my head, I’d say the coolest research moment was when Aleks Voinov and I were writing our WWII historical, and had sent our characters behind enemy lines in an entirely fictional operation during the Battle of the Bulge. We thought, “Well, there’s nothing that says the Germans didn’t do this, so it’s certainly possible that it could have happened…” (It is fiction, after all)  And then while I was researching another tidbit about the same book, I stumbled across an operation in which the Germans were doing almost exactly what we’d concocted, in the exact same time and place as our story. We decided that history bent itself to fit our story.

12. Which of your book covers is your favorite? Who designed that cover? I have to pick one?? *whimpers* Um. Well.  I love Quid Pro Quo, which is a Jordan Taylor cover. Covet Thy Neighbor (L.C. Chase) is also amazing.  Conduct Unbecoming, The Princess and the Porn Star, and All The King’s Horses are probably my favorites.

13. Are you attending any conventions in the next year? Which ones?  I’ve already been to RT this year and will probably go next year. In July, I’ll be at the UK GLBTQ Fiction meet-up in Manchester, and in October, GayRomLit in Atlanta.  I’ll also be at the Rainbow Convention in Florida next April. My husband will be accompanying me to that one, too!

Thank you for visiting this stop on the Absolutely Erotic Blog Hop! Please be sure to visit the other interviews in the hop and comment for more chances to win the grand prize before the drawing later this week!

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer currently living in the glamorous and ultra-futuristic metropolis of Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two cats, and a disembodied penguin brain that communicates with her telepathically. In addition to writing smut and disturbing the locals, L.A. is said to be working with the US government to perfect a genetic modification that will allow humans to survive indefinitely on Corn Pops and beef jerky. This is all a cover, though, as her primary leisure activity is hunting down her arch nemesis, erotica author Lauren Gallagher, who is also said to be lurking somewhere in Omaha.
